Featured Author: Victoria Calderón Nunes 

Welcome Home, My Little One/Bienvenido a Casa, Mi Chiquito is Victoria's debut as a children's book author, although she was first published by The National Library of Poetry at 12 years old. Nearly 20 years later, she was inspired to launch her writing career after the birth of her baby boy, Daniel Andrés. 

 

Victoria is a Venezuelan-American activist, author and blogger. Her educational background and professional experience is in Marketing/Communications. She previously worked for corporations, non-profits, small businesses and in the media industry. She's the co-founder of AVANZA Business Solutions, Ltd. a multicultural business consulting firm and Bottoms Up Coffee Co-Op, a social enterprise using coffee and co-working as a means to social change by reducing infant mortality in Franklinton, Ohio. She's contributed as a guest writer for the national lifestyle magazine, LATINA Style. Victoria is also a regular contributor on Columbus Moms Blog. Victoria likes to engage in public speaking whenever the opportunity presents itself. Some of her topics of interest include work/life balance, reducing infant mortality, entrepreneurship and social enterprise, her Christian faith, community development, leadership, networking, the Latina perspective, blogging and personal branding. She's also an active member of the Ohio Collaborative to Prevent Infant Mortality, on the Forge Columbus Board of Directors and on the Franklin University Communications Advisory Committee. 

Some of her most notable recognition includes The Network Journal's Business First Forty Under 40 (2010),  El Sol de Ohio Newspaper Ohio Latino Award (2011) 

and gracing the front cover of Columbus C.E.O. Magazine
